The group was formed last 2012 but only singing in our Prayer Meetings. In year 2013, we participated in the church’s simbang gabi caroling and we have some schedules also for OWWA mass during those times. We formally started singing in English mass only last year after the feast day of St. Cecilia. After that, we had service schedules for the English masses. Now, our permanent schedule in English mass is every 5th Thursday of the month. We also joined in the past SPCFC’s Grand choir and Joint choir activities and relieves some choirs if assigned by the SPCFC Choir Coordinator.

It is envisioned that this music ministry will continuously uplift and touch the hearts of the parishioners through singing gospel songs and further deepen their faith and relationship with God as well as foster spiritual growth that would inspire each and everyone to compose more gospel songs with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The Mission of AJDMC Music Ministry is to exalt the name of Jesus and the message of the Gospel through singing and to connect people to each other and to God, through the gift of music.

SACRED HEART OF JESUS CHOIR (SHOJC)

The voice of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir (SHOJC) was first heard on December 1, 2000 at the Philippine International School of Qatar(PISQ).

The choir was formed by the late Deacon Ceasar Calma for the novena and mass celebration for the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The Novena was held every First Friday of the month, starting Dec. 1, 2000 and since this was formed for the Novena of SHOJ, we adopted the name SHOJC.

OUR VISION

To ultimately glorify the Lord and to reach out to people by proclaiming His "Good News" through music and songs.

OUR MISSION

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir brings the very best it can offer to God in worship while also presenting outstanding sacred choral works. The ensemble also exists for the mutual support and fulfillment of its membership. The singing of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir is always dedicated to the glory of God.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir of the Our Lady of the Rosary Parish of Doha is a Called Choir. Our calling is to use our musical gifts to tell about God's abundant love. We believe that we are each uniquely gifted by God to do the work of music ministry. We acknowledge that our gifts come from God and that our joy in music also comes from God. As recipients of God's grace, we seek to serve as ministers of God's grace. We are called to give sacrificially to the ministry of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir. We serve out of a sense of gratitude to God for what he has done.

The dedication of this choir to high musical standards and consistent musical leadership in worship requires a certain level of commitment from all of its members. The commitment to singing in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir is a commitment to the music ministry of the church and a covenant with other members that each will do their part as an important member of the choir.

THE LORD`S CHOIR (TLC)

In almost three decades, The Lord’s Choir (TLC) proved to be one of the greatest assets in the community of Our Lady of the Rosary, Doha. This group leads and helps the celebration of the Eucharistic Mass to become vibrant. It extends its services to others religiously, officially and socially – wedding ceremonies, Christmas caroling, Easter celebrations, musical drama theatre, Independence Day celebrations and various community inaugurations. Thus, it gains blessings with exerted efforts and teamwork of the officers and its members. Additionally, commitment, dedication, determination and good attitude generate continuous existence and unity with the grace of our Creator.

The onset of TLC started with humble beginnings with the initiation of the TLC founder, late Deacon Cesar Calma. His ardent desire to create a small group, almost 29 years ago, to sing for the Mass was a calling. At that time, around 6 or 7 persons moved forward with commitment and dedication to practice liturgical songs a day or two before the Mass with the accompaniment of recorded playing instruments. Several months later, gifted guitarists joined the group. With constant practice, the members gained confidence.
